Christina and Kevin met in college 9 years ago. Christina overheard Kevin talking about how he wanted to have a big family, and said to her friends “I have to go talk to that guy.” They then did RA training together, and Kevin let Christina borrow a pair of socks the first time they hung out.
They are currently living in Boston near Fenway Park in a condo they bought, and decided to renovate instead of getting married. “We had a wedding date chosen but pushed it back a year to allocate our funds to the condo instead. Figured it had already been 8 years, what was one more”.
Christina made her own veil (for less than $3.00- tulle from Michaels and 2 bobby pins). Christina was ironing the veil the night before the wedding and melted it with the iron, so she made another one the same morning as the wedding.
Kevin loved the veil- he whispered it to Christina during the ceremony. She was very nervous he would not like it.
Kevin had a tuxedo custom made from Indochino.
Jean Whitten, the first person to know Kevin and Christina as a couple married the pair in the garden of the Whittemore Robbins House. The ceremony lasted 3 minutes and 57 seconds. “No need to rehearse a 4 minute ceremony” said Christina.
Christina took care of flowers and decorations herself, wrapping twine on all the jars which they had collected for years from their own fridge and that of family, friends, and from freecycle.
The flowers were purchased from Costco for less than $400 and put together by Christina her mom and sister.
“Our dogs name is Olive, she is 4 months old. She was a hit at the wedding and it was great bc it took a little bit of pressure off of us to entertain everyone. Yes she is a girl and yes she is wearing a bowtie because we don’t abide by gender roles and bowties on dogs are cute as hell.”
The Lisa Love Experience provided music and entertainment throughout the evening.
Congratulations you two, Hope you had a great time on your honeymoon in Hawaii!
