Marblehead mailman cornered by wild turkeys

While driving through Marblehead this morning with a friend of mine, we came across a mail carrier trying to deliver the mail

while being “attacked” by wild turkeys on Village st.

Although I had heard heard about this on the news, as well as some talk radio stations recently, I found it hard to believe until seeing this unfold in front of me.

The mail carrier was visibly scared and was yelling to the turkeys “get back or I am going to spray you with mace!!”.

Although I was outside of my car and just as close to the turkeys as he was, they seemed to have no interest in me at all.

The woman in blue came running from her house trying to lure the birds away from the mail carrier with bread crumbs. A tactic that did not work.

“This always happens on this street, sometimes they even chase my truck” the mail carrier said

as he pulled out his mace and headed for his truck, while kicking at the birds.
